About SWPK

SWPK—The Sylvia Wald and Po Kim Art Gallery— is a non-profit art foundation founded in 2005 by the Korean-American artist couple Sylvia Wald and Po Kim. In addition to preserving and perpetuating the legacy of the founders’ uniquely accomplished artistic careers, the foundation is committed to promoting East-West cultural exchange through the arts by sponsoring and hosting art exhibitions of national and international artists.

In recognizing the global importance of mutual understanding and acceptance between Eastern and Western cultures, SWPK aims to provide a catalyst for deeper intercultural dialogue between the diverse community of New York and the artistic communities of the world. Located in one of New York’s most artistically vibrant neighborhoods, SWPK presents a year-round schedule of exhibitions highlighting non-Western aesthetics and values, with a special emphasis on artists of Korean and Asian descent. SWPK’s innovative exhibition programming has established the foundation as a recognized and respected art institution in New York and internationally.

SWPK is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and is a Consortium member of the Asia Contemporary Art Consortium (ACAW) and a member of the SoHo Arts Network.
